Konstantin Sibold and Adam Sellouk join their talents on ‘The Dusk & Dawn EP’

In a collaborative triumph, renowned German artist Konstantin Sibold and rising talent Adam Sellouk have joined their talents for the new collaborative two-track ‘The Dusk & Dawn EP’, released on Tomorrowland Music!

The two melodic house & techno producers work together for the first time on this cut and let their respective energies flow into two powerful and impactful compositions, which both have been a staple in their live performances over the past year.

Here’s what Konstantin Sibold had to say about the EP:

“I got to know Adam through his unreleased tracks. We finally met in person when I was playing a show in Israel which he joined. We immediately became friends and the idea of making music together was born.

Adam had the initial ideas for these two tracks a long time ago and I felt they had potential and I could improve them so we were hanging out in his studio in Israel and finished the tracks together. So since 1 year they both are an integral part of my DJ sets and I’m very happy they finally see the light of day.”

Speaking about the EP Adam Sellouk said:

“I first connected with Konstantin through my unreleased tracks, sparking our initial interaction. Our paths finally crossed in person during one of his performances in Israel, a moment that solidified our friendship. The idea of crafting music together took root, with Konstantin recognizing potential in the initial ideas I had held for these tracks.

Must-Have Items For You And Your Date at a Summer Music Fest

You know that you and your lover have a shared interest in music. Doesn’t it make sense to spend quality time together and have an amazing time at a summer music fest? Of course, it does! There’s just one caveat. Nothing will ruin your festival date faster than coming unprepared, particularly if you don’t have a lot of festival experience yourself. Guarantee yourself and your date a good time by using this as your ultimate music-fest packing list.

Sun Protection

Suburned? Prepare to be miserable for the rest of the fest, and forget about getting lucky! It doesn’t matter if it’s cloudy or cold, you need sun protection if you’re going to be outdoors. Start with a high SPF sunscreen, but remember that barrier methods are best. Throw on a bucket hat, grab a pair of shades, and a light base layer to protect your arms.

Tech

The right tech makes these events better, and can even keep the two of you safe. Your phone’s a must-have, but don’t forget the portable chargers. One is fine if you’re going back to the hotel at night. Are you camping? In that case, bring along an extra. Yes, even if there are (supposedly) electrical hookups.

Are you following the low-tech trend? In that case, run by your latest big box store for a flip phone and a disposable camera.

Here are a few other items that can make your music festival date just a little better:

  • Flashlights or headlamps
  • Kaleidoscope Goggles
  • Personal fans
  • Portable speakers

Gear

Be prepared. Nothing is worse than missing a great act because you must run into town to pick up some necessities. Here’s the gear you need:

First Aid Kit

Forget the lines at the first aid tent. You can deal with most minor injuries yourself. All you need is a mixed pack of bandaids, petroleum jelly for cuts and scrapes, alcohol wipes, ibuprofen, antacids, and moleskin for blisters.

Backpack

Keep in mind that different festivals have rules about these. Some limit size and style. Others might ask you to bring a clear pack only. Still, get a backpack or duffel for all of your gear to keep your hands free.

Toiletries

Never assume that you’re going to have decent access to moist wipes, TP, menstruation products, dry shampoo, etc. Bring a stash in your car.

Towels

Grab a stack of microfiber or otherwise absorbent towels and throw them in your trunk before you go. They’re ideal for wiping the sweat away, impromptu showers, and cleaning up messes.

Cooler

Like backpacks, these may be subject to festival rules. Still, if you can bring one, a cooler is a game changer. Bring in your own food and canned drinks to save money and skip the food lines.

Blanket

This is a must-have, even during the hottest days of summer. Let’s be honest. There’s a lack of clean, comfortable places to sit at festivals. Bring a blanket along, and you’ll always have a place to sit.

Extra Socks

Don’t leave without clean socks for yourself and your date. Because blisters suck. Seriously, they can ruin a festival, and nobody wants to waste hundreds or thousands of dollars like that.

Crocs or Flip Flops

You need extra shoes, but your daily kicks are too bulky to drag around in your backpack. Instead, get something lightweight and comfortable like a pair of flip-flops or Crocs.

Comfort And Weather Protection

Sun, rain, and cold – You’re guaranteed to deal with at least two of these things at any outdoor music fest. You’ve got the sunscreen and a blanket already. That’s a great start! Now, throw in a couple of those emergency rain ponchos you can get in the camping section at any department store. Add an umbrella or get fashionable with a parasol and silk fan.

Hydration

Keep hydrated, especially if you party hard. Throw extra water bottles in your car – it doesn’t matter how many you have – assume you’ll need more. If you can bring it into the festival grounds, consider a camelback or other hydration vest.

Prep is Key to a Great Festival Date

You’ve met someone who shares your taste in music. If not, check out Hily to meet someone who vibes like you. Now, you can make plans to attend a music fest together, bond over your shared passion, and get to know one another even more. Even better, thanks to this list you’ll be prepared for whatever comes next.

NightSchool: EU-Funded Programme Offers €75,000 to Support Emerging Nightlife Curators

Five of Europe’s leading nightlife specialists team up to present NightSchool: An EU wide training programme designed to support night culture producers early in their career. This transnational education programme will focus on environmental, social, and economic sustainability.

The project sets to pair nightlife visionaries spanning promoters, bookers, venue owners, to hands-on creatives with industry veterans and experts from the European culture circuit. Funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe, NightSchool will select 15 participants, providing a grant of €5,000 each.

This will go towards facilitating a week of peer-learning sessions in multiple cities as well as to launching their own sustainable event ideas. Empowering individuals to turn their visions into reality is at the core of the programme.

NightSchool will offer recipients the chance to travel and engage in a sequence of face-to-face peer-learning sessions hosted by renowned experts and three distinguished European night culture venues. The programme launches with an open call to select young culture producers from across Europe. Together they will visit some of Europe’s most respected venues and learn from the best in their field.

Co-founder Mirik Milan emphasises, “Nightlife creatives and culture producers are first and foremost problem solvers. They are needed right now, more than ever to take on the unique challenges and opportunities of our rapidly evolving cultural sector.”

The micro-funding scheme (€75,000) will support the selectees in pioneering and implementing sustainability-focused night culture events across all of Europe. To complement the training and mentorship programme, NightSchool is building an online resource and hybrid platform that offers educational content to a global audience, hosted and curated by a vast network of key experts within night culture and sustainability.

A joint effort by five partnering organisations, NightSchool is a collaboration between Vibelab, Belgian club institution FUSE, Latvian culture centre Kaņepes Kultūras Centrs, Italian based creative hub BASIS Vinschgau Venosta alongside their in-house event KASINO Club, and Sweden-based cultural strategy and production agency Transversal Project.

This notion of collaboration is key to the programme’s mission, as Milan further highlights:

“While the term ‘community’ is frequently overused in the commercial world, its essence lies in uniting a collective of like-minded souls together. At NightSchool, we join forces to address issues of diversity, inclusivity and solidarity. As well as climate action and the ecological dimension of night culture, we provide first-hand insights on maintaining a financially sound enterprise.”

Based on three core pillars of Social Awareness, Sustainability and Entrepreneurship, NightSchool creates inclusive, safe(r) and vibrant environments that actively promote diversity, wellbeing and positive community interactions. Proudly promoting environmental sustainability whilst minimising the environmental impact of nighttime cultural activities.

Through applied practices incorporating energy efficiency, waste reduction, sustainable sourcing and reduced air travel, NightSchool explores business activities within the nighttime cultural sector covering venue management, events organisation, and curating experiences aiming to enrich their respective city’s local scene.

Applications are open now, closing date for applications will be April 12th, with participants committing to a week long training 3-8 June 2024.
