Michael Bibi’s ‘One Life’ Show Becomes London’s Largest Electronic Event in History

Last Saturday, internationally acclaimed DJ and producer Michael Bibi made history as he launched his ‘One Life’ tour at Finsbury Park. Drawing over 45,000 attendees, this event set a new record as the largest electronic music gathering in the city’s history

The event was a true testament to Bibi‘s indomitable spirit and remarkable journey, filled with poignant and unforgettable moments.

Michael Bibi‘s performance was a heartfelt narrative of his life and victorious fight against CNS Lymphoma. In addition to performances from Chloé Caillet, Dixon, Enzo Siragusa, and Salomé Le Chat, the stage saw a special B3B DJ set with Dennis Cruz and PAWSA – celebrating a decade of performing together – as well as guest performances by Audio Bullys, and Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjærg – former member and the original singer of Blue Foundation‘s “Eyes on Fire” which Bibi notably remixed in 2020.

However, it was the personal touches that truly captivated the audience on an intimate level. As the night unfolded, the giant screens displayed deeply moving video montages including scenes from Bibi‘s childhood with his father – who also hopped on stage to perform an electrifying guitar solo – cherished moments with Dennis Cruz and PAWSA, and raw footage of his struggles in the hospital throughout his treatment.

The emotional depth of the event was palpable; Fans witnessed not only the triumph of a beloved artist (and their home team as England’s quarter-final win was also broadcast on the screen) but also the resilience of a man who has overcome immense challenges.

A portion of the proceeds from the show supported various cancer charities including Anthony Nolan, The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, which supports the work of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, where Bibi received his treatment.

Building on the momentum of this milestone moment, Bibi will continue celebrating life with his second tour stop in Seville, Spain on July 13, followed by performances at Ushuaïa Ibiza in September and Puglia Italy in October.

Henri Bergmann brings in Yet More, ORISS, & Fur Coat for ‘Come On’ Remixes

Fresh off the back of Henri Bergmann ‘s standout new tune ‘Come On’ with Wennink, comes three special remixes from Yet More, ORISS & Fur Coat.

The original, released on Bergmann‘s own Automatik label, is a darkly alluring electronic cut with an anthemic vocal and snappy drums that make floors march. Henri Bergmann continues to pave her own unique path in the underground music scene with every new production she puts out.

The first remix is by French artist Teymour Khalatbari aka Yet More who has worked with the likes of Innervisions, MoBlack, as well as featuring on Automatik‘s inaugural VA. His disco rework has an askew lead synth line with extra punches added into the percussion. The starry melodies twinkle up top creating a bright, intense, and edgy record, preparing us for those imminent summer days into nights.

Next up is Ori Savion, also known as ORISS. He has worked under a handful of aliases and has placed his songs on reputable labels like Syncopate and Kinetika. With a frazzled bassline and flashy synths, ORISS’s rework invites peak time energy and gets hands in the air.

The last remix comes from Øddity label owner and seasoned producer Fur Coat. His remix retains the key elements of the original while adding his own recognizable sound to the rework. Dark and chuggy with electro synths, Fur Coat’s remix brings new meaning to peak time energy.

Mathew Jonson returns to Crosstown Rebels with ‘Tako Tako’

Mathew Jonson has developed one of the most distinctive voices in electronic dance music. His take on house and techno is rich in synth craft and high on captivating emotions, all shaped by his notoriously extensive collection of analogue and hardware gear that he can play, manipulate and use like few others.

An electronic mastermind renowned for releasing countless seminal tracks and albums, both solo and as a member of Cobblestone Jazz, he returns to a label that has been a constant throughout his career. With his ‘Tako Tako’ EP, he offers two more superb journeys on Crosstown Rebels.

Here’s what Mathew Jonson had to say about the release:

“In Japanese, “tako” (タコ) refers to both the octopus as an animal and as food. Unlike in English, where “beef” is the food and “cow” is the animal, Japanese often uses the same word for both.

So, “tako” is used whether you’re talking about the living octopus or a dish made from it. I stopped eating tako 23 years ago when I realized they have significant spiritual importance, not only here on Earth but also across the entire galaxy.”

Mathew Jonson

The fantastic ‘Tako Tako’ kicks off with Jonson’s signature mix of elegant and refined synth craft, with dancing melodies bringing futuristic energy and neon colour to crunchy beats. They are smeared and smudged in a painterly fashion and help make this production a pulsating dancefloor thrill.

Equally standout is ‘Just a Little Bit’, powered by a jostling broken beat with a warm bassline and wordless vocals sampled throughout. It’s funky, kinetic, always on the move, and rounds out another one of Jonson’s fantastically inventive yet effective EPs.

Mayan Warrior Announces LA Halloween Event & Return To Burning Man

Mayan Warrior continues the next chapter in its storied journey with the unveiling of their new art car concept, ‘Mayan Warrior Galaxyer,’ and the announcement of their Los Angeles Halloween event. Held on October 26th with long-standing partners Stranger Than, Mayan Warrior Los Angeles will serve as the first off-playa appearance of the new art car following its highly-anticipated debut at Burning Man.

Originating in Mexico City, Mayan Warrior evolved from a renegade Burning Man art car and soundcamp to one of electronic music’s most successful touring brands, known for its unannounced lineups showcasing native Mexican and global underground talent.

After the original art car was tragically destroyed earlier this year, the resilience of Mayan Warrior’s vibrant community was exemplified, leading to the latest iteration of this extraordinary project. Through the ashes, the Mayan Warrior’s legacy lives on and takes shape in ‘Mayan Warrior Galaxyer.’

Fusing ancient artistry with state-of-the-art technology, the Mayan Warrior team has built a custom art car resembling of a Mayan spaceship and an altar stage, a continuation of the emblematic theme used by the design team for over a decade.

Mayan Warrior Galaxyer

The new art car symbolizes the soul of the last Mayan Warrior traveling through space, time, and the cosmos. Inspired by the spiritual realm and the idea of a futuristic Mayan spaceship, Mayan Warrior founder Pablo Gonzalez Vargas worked in tandem with Alvaro Manzo on the conceptual design, Paolo Montiel on the lasers and lighting systems, and Daniel Coello for the industrial design and build.

Speaking on the new art car, Pablo Gonzalez Vargas says:

“Let this be a portal to higher alternate states of consciousness of transcendental self-discovery.”

Mayan Warrior

Several unique and custom-made elements define the new art car. Built on a custom lowboy platform, the vehicle boasts a wireless-controlled custom electrical drivetrain and all custom LED screens that outline its design.

A powerful d&b KLS series cardioid sound system delivers an impressive 153,600 watts of sound—nearly double the size of the previous system. The art car is also equipped with a state-of-the-art laser system, including a 400W laser that pierces through the atmosphere, 17 moving headlights with new laser source technology, and eight 30W lasers aimed towards the front of the stage. All components are waterproof and dustproof, ensuring durability and reliability.

Mayan Warrior will continue to champion its signature sonic curation while gradually incorporating live acts that align with its eclectic identity. Held in partnership with underground event collective Stranger Than, the Los Angeles Halloween event will provide a truly immersive experience, from installation art pieces created by the Mayan Warrior community to individual performers that will pop up within and above the crowd.

Additional Mayan Warrior dates will be announced in Miami and Tulum later this year.

Tickets for Mayan Warrior Los Angeles go on sale July 10th at 12pm PST.

Sasha Carassi delivers impressive Truesoul debut with ‘Memoria’

The respected artist shares an association with Adam Beyer going back to 2010, when he debuted on Drumcode with the excellent ‘Hypercombo’ EP.

He went on to contribute to the collaborative EP ‘The Napoli Connection‘ on DC a year later, before gifting ‘The Hard Parade‘ to A-Sides Vol.3 in 2015 – a highlight of that year.
