UNTOLD 2019 Mainstage

UNTOLD and Neversea are showing us that in these difficult times due to Coronavirus outbreak they are more than just a festivals. The team behind UNTOLD created UNITED, an initiative that gathers the good in Romania donating equipment from the festivals to help Romanian authorities fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

The UNTOLD and Neversea team kept a closed contact with the authorities from the first COVID-19 confirmations in Romania and developed a strategy with the authorities and its partners to fulfill the needs of the heroes in the front line.

The cases of COVID-19 grew up fast and UNTOLD festival immediately created an own fund of 100.000 euros and various urgent purchases have been made.

UNTOLD UNITED

Here are some of the actions taken so far as part of the UNITED initiative:

• 6 trucks with equipment from UNTOLD and Neversea were sent in Constanta, Romania, to help the authorities in the fight against COVID-19. 4.000 square meters of porta floor, 4.000 square meters of geotextile and 6 floodlight mobile lighting towers were used to build a mobile hospital on a stadium, in Constanta. So, the dancefloor from the festivals has now a new destination, with the help of UNTOLD’s partners – Industrial Access and VOS LOGISTICS. Also, the tents from the festivals and square meters of linoleum are now used by the doctors from the biggest hospital in Constanta, in the triage center.

• More than 12.000 tests for COVID-19 and related consumables were donated to the hospitals in Cluj, by UNTOLD and its partners Cognizant SoftVision and Transilvania Bank. The same team also bought masks, gloves, disinfectants and other materials that are needed in the fight against the new coronavirus. They also donated technological equipment to the authorities.

The health and safety of everyone is always the most important thing. With this belief, the preparations for Romania’s dance music jewels, UNTOLD and Neversea continue, with the hope that Coronavirus will get soon to an end and the measures and restrictions imposed by the Romanian authorities, which are so necessary now, will be revoked and we will be able to enjoy together the summer, outside!

Burning Man Festival has officially cancelled it’s 2020 edition due to the Coronavirus outbreak scare that’s sweeping the nation.

The unfortunate news was just recently released and will mark the first time in 35 years that Burning Man will not take place. It’s truly impossible to try and replace a festival with a livestream, but Burning Man is doing whatever it can to give it’s fans a glimmer of hope. The festival organizers announced that it will host a virtual equivalent that will be streamed online.

Organizers had this to say about the devastating news:

“Given the painful reality of COVID-19, one of the greatest global challenges of our lifetimes, we believe this is the right thing to do.”

“Yes, we are heartbroken. We know you are too. In 2020 we need human connection and Immediacy more than ever. But public health and the well-being of our participants, staff, and neighbors in Nevada are our highest priorities.”

“We are, however, going to build Black Rock City in The Multiverse. That’s the theme for 2020 so we’re going to lean into it…We look forward to welcoming you to Virtual Black Rock City 2020. We’re not sure how it’s going to come out; it will likely be messy and awkward with mistakes. It will also likely be engaging, connective, and fun.”

Burning Man is just the latest major music festival to be either cancelled or postponed. We are truly living in a different time.. Stay home and stay safe people.

Cold Blue drops remix of Solarstone’s Rainbow King

‘3’ – Solarstone’s 2019-released album brought more than its fair share of strikingly original moments. None, however, had more singularity than the Julie Scott-sung ‘Rainbow King’.

The first time they’d worked together in a decade, it was the type of trance esoterica that only a handful of partnerships could’ve crafted. Hidden in the metaphoric margins of Julie Scott’s paean-like lyrics and unforgettable delivery were the makings of a modern classic.

For fans, a big chord had been struck and ‘Rainbow King’ singled itself out good and early for the standalone treatment. Now, complete with a night-time-edged remix kingmaker from Cold Blue, that arrives today.

Solarstone & Julie Scott – Rainbow King (Cold Blue Remix)

Cold Blue’s Tobias Schuh takes the key elements of Richard’s headily potent production and supercharges them. He advances the tempo of the production, increases its power ratio and brings some seriously bassy Swashbuckle to its bottom end.

Matching the extraordinary lift of Julie’s chorus, note-for-note, his synths lock in the altitude, elevating his rework of ‘Rainbow King’ up to the loftiest heights.

Matador releases peak time single ‘Bush’

Matador

Matador returns to the release radar with his second single of the year, ‘Bush’. His latest offering of 2020 follows the accomplished musician’s more recent work – including his ambient album project ‘Tuesday’ and his harder-hitting RUKUS release, ‘Desire’. ‘Bush’ is out now via Astralwerks Records as a part of their ‘White Label’ series, with pre-orders for the vinyl available now.

Kicking off with a filtered, pulsating synth, ‘Bush‘ is a masterful lesson in creatively crafted tension. The track’s uncompromisingly infectious rhythm effectively highlights Matador‘s meticulous four-on-the-floor approach to riveting techno. The seven-and-a-half minute production’s sharp synths paired with relentless rolling basslines create a devilishly heady effect, ultimately leaving the listener wanting more from the revered producer.

Influenced by a number of genres at an early age, Gavin Lynch‘s passion for music has been long-standing, inciting the versatile Dublin-based producer to pursue his hobby of DJing. After being taken under close friend and collaborator Richie Hawtin‘s wing, Matador‘s underground hobby fast became a full-time career with his name rapidly gaining traction in the techno world.

Matador Bush

The Irish native has had the chance to perform at several international dance staples throughout the years including Awakenings, Tomorrowland, and Ultra Music Festival to name a few. In addition, he has received continuous support from the likes of renowned industry heavyweights Carl Cox and Adam Beyer, with his RUKUS imprint enabling him to not only enhance and expound upon his musical vision unhindered but also foster promising, up-and-coming talent.

Matador‘s latest release sees the venerated techno producer make his Astralwerks Records’ ‘White Label‘ series debut. An impressive feat, he will be in good company with the likes of Undercatt, Little Death and Jean-Michel Jarre, to name a few. Sure to be a dancefloor hit, the propelling ‘Bush‘ serves as a prime example of what’s in store for Matador in 2020.

Andrew Rayel digs into the roots of Trance with ‘Stars Collide’

andrew rayel

From highly emotional to severly uplifting to thoroughly empowering: whichever word you might try to describe the sheer radiance of Andrew Rayel’s new single with, it won’t even come close to capturing its heart and spirit in full.

Made in collaboration with Polish DJ/producer Robbie Seed and South African songstress That Girl, ‘Stars Collide‘ is exactly what its title conveys: a breathtaking blast of Trance set to blow every dance music fan’s mind.

A flawless uplifting gem that rises as the first-ever collab between Andrew Rayel and Robbie Seed, ‘Stars Collide‘ lights up the night like a sparkle in the sky. With That Girl‘s heavenly vocals leading listeners across the emotive breakdown and stirring melody, this record is set to stake its claim as an instant crowd favorite and the surefire highlight of the running Trance year.

Andrew Rayel Stars Collide

Heres what the they had to say about the track:

Andrew Rayel: “‘Stars Collide’ is a record that I hope everyone will feel as strongly about as we do. It’s something that resonates with the time we are in, as life has so many ups and downs. One day our lives were normal, the other you’re adapting to a day-to-day change. I hope this song will help you through the times we’re in, both emotionally and spiritually. And most importantly, that you feel connected to something or someone.”

Robbie Seed & That Girl: “It’s tough to find someone who you musically connect with and whose sound complements ours, but it more than worked out with Andrew Rayel on ‘Stars Collide’. The song truly came to life when Andrew Rayel joined us in the making of this production. We are super stoked about this release and eternally grateful for this amazing and life-changing opportunity to join musical forces with one of our biggest idols. Although ‘Stars Collide’ turned out to be our breakthrough song for both of our music careers, we are definitely planning on more collaborations together in the near future.”

Even though 2020 has only gone as far as April, Andrew Rayel has already put everything in place to make this year his best one yet. In recent months, the Moldovan DJ, producer, label owner, and radio show host not only released a two-part anthem for the 200th episode of his radio show (‘The Light Side Of The Harmony’ vs ‘The Dark Side Of The Harmony‘), but also dropped the first installment of his ‘Find Your Harmony‘ mix album series. And now with a record as monumental as ‘Stars Collide‘, Andrew Rayel is evidently pulling out all the stops to give the Trance crowd exactly what they’re after: a tune that will shake the Trance scene to its core.

A familiar Trance pairing in recent years, Robbie Seed and That Girl have been up there with the best since their first-ever team-up, ‘Behind That Pretty Smile‘, captured the interest of Paul van Dyk and subsequently gained them a tidal wave of support in 2019.

It proved only the beginning of their musical journey together, as their second record, ‘Come Alive‘, was picked up by Solarstone and crowned “favorite release of 2019” on his Pure Trance NEON label. And now, all of their efforts has culminated in this massive collab with Andrew Rayel, proving that passion and talent will always be rewarded when paired with hard work and dedication.

Orbital release a rare rework of Joris Voorn’s ‘Never’

Joris Voorn
Joris Voorn

Phil and Paul Hartnoll are the brothers hailing from Kent best known as Orbital, undoubtedly one of the United Kingdom’s most pioneering electronic acts of all time.

Named after the London Orbital Motorway which circled the M25 illegal raves, the Hartnoll‘s have come from the epicentre of the acid house scene and given a face to electronic music in the form of their diverse and innovative productions alongside an energetic and pioneering live show.

The brothers have delivered a rare remix of Joris Voorn‘s ‘Never‘ which was released on his \\\\ [four] album late last year, and inspired by the mid 90s sound reminiscent of classic Orbital electronic anthems.

Here’s what Joris Voorn had to say about the remix:

“‘Never’ was mainly inspired by so-called ‘Intelligent Dance Music’ from the mid-’90s, and it went on to become one of my favourite tracks on this album. Orbital were such a formative and pioneering force in this scene and have been a huge influence on my sound. To have them remix one of my tracks is a massive honour for me

Orbital‘s contribution towards Joris‘ seminal track ‘Never‘ is a multilayered and complex affair, combining elements of stripped back electro, rolling UK breaks infused with key components of the classic and distinctly euphoric Orbital sound.

Whilst continuing to build an intense wall of sound with their crisp production credentials, the brother’s throw in a moment of rave history with some serious hands in the air synth stabs that tastefully combines with Joris’ signature melody from the original outing.
