Hi MITCH DB, how’s it going?
Hey! I’m doing great, thanks for having me.
You’ve been on an impressive run of releases lately, how would you say this period has shaped your creative approach?
It’s been a period of growth and experimentation. I always try to balance my releases. Some tracks, like ‘Weight Of Your Love’, are more radio-friendly with strong vocals and broad appeal, while others are more created to hit hard in clubs and live shows. Finding that balance keeps me motivated and helps me reach different audiences.
Across your latest tracks, how do you keep pushing your creativity while maintaining a signature sound?
It’s about keeping the energy and emotion consistent, no matter the trending style. Whether it’s a track made for radio or one designed for DJ sets, I always make sure it has that signature intensity and drive that connects with my audience.
You’ve been collaborating with the likes of Felixx, Mingue, and Poylow, to name just a few; can you share what your production workflow looks like when collaborating with multiple artists?
Working with artists from different backgrounds is incredible. Every artist brings their unique style and energy to a track, which constantly pushes me to think outside the box.
Whether it’s vocalists, producers, or songwriters, I always learn something new from every collaboration. It also helps me reach different audiences globally, which is exciting. Music is universal, and I love how collaborations bring a fresh perspective to my sound.
When producing high-energy tracks, what do you think is the most important element to get right?
For every track, I focus on keeping the energy high to keep listeners engaged and prevent them from skipping. For example, ‘Weight Of Your Love’ was designed more for streaming and radio, whereas my next release ‘Fortia’ will be more club-oriented and DJ-friendly. This approach helps me reach different audiences and keep things fresh. The key is to make every track interesting.
What is your approach to mixing and mastering? Have you developed any techniques that help streamline the process?
I handle the mix during the production process, making sure the levels are balanced from the start. For mastering, I prefer having a second pair of ears to get a fresh perspective. Sometimes, I hop on a call with another producer, like my friend and college Level 8, who I’ve worked with many times. Or I collaborate with experienced sound engineers to maximize the track’s potential.
Each of your recent releases has a distinct energy and style, how do you ensure they all fit within your overall sound as an artist?
Even though my tracks can be different in style, I always make sure they carry my signature energy. Whether it’s a radio hit or a club banger, it has to have that emotional drive and power that defines my music.
How do you approach layering synths and bass to create the impact needed for Hypertechno?
Usually, we start with a strong sub-bass foundation and then build harmonics with a mid-bass. Synths need to complement the low end without overpowering it, so by using an EQ and some sidechain to keep everything tight.
Which of your latest tracks has had the best crowd reaction so far?
My latest release ‘Rockstar’ with Aurelios and Mingue has been crazy live! I already played it many times live and the energy in that drop always gets the crowd hyped, and seeing people go crazy when it hits is an amazing feeling. Next to ‘Rockstar’, my newest track ‘Fortia’ also goes wild in the clubs. I can’t wait to show this one to all of you.
With many of your latest tracks featuring vocals, how do you approach integrating them into the mix? Are there any go-to plugins or techniques you rely on?
Vocals are such a huge part of making a song stand out. I always try to work with artists who bring real emotion to the track. Jay Mason’s vocals on ‘Weight Of Your Love’ are a perfect example—catchy, emotional, and powerful enough to carry the song. Every song is different, but mostly we use the same techniques to make the vocals stand out.
Of your 2025 releases so far—‘Weight of Your Love,’ ‘Rockstar,’ and ‘Summer’—which one stands out as your favorite and why?
It is hard to choose, but If I had to choose one, I would choose ‘Weight Of Your Love’! It’s got everything I love in a track—great energy, a melody that sticks with you, and a vocal that instantly connects. Plus, working with such talented artists from all over the world made it extra special.
Finally, can you hint to what fans can expect next? Can you share details on any upcoming releases or collaborations?
Yes! My next release ‘Fortia’ is going to be more focused on DJ support and club energy. It’s a harder, more festival-ready track that I can’t wait to drop. There are also some exciting collaborations coming up, so it is going to be interesting to follow the road through 2025!
