Shooting Stars has such a cool mix of nostalgia and intense drops—what was the creative journey behind putting these sounds together?
The journey behind Shooting Stars was all about merging those nostalgic sounds with the high energy of modern electronic music. I wanted to create something that feels both timeless and fresh, a track that takes you back while also driving you forward.
How do you go about building a story within your music when there aren’t any lyrics to guide listeners?
When it comes to telling a story without lyrics, I lean heavily into the emotions each sound can convey. Every element—melody, rhythm, and texture—has a role in creating an atmosphere.
You’ve called Shooting Stars the start of a new chapter—what’s driving this new direction for you?
Shooting Stars really feels like a new chapter because it’s the first track where I’ve fully embraced a more playful, nostalgic side in my music. I’m inspired by this idea of blending youthful, almost child-like energy with the intensity of electronic sounds. This track was a chance to explore that balance more intentionally, creating something both uplifting and powerful.
What’s it been like having support from names like Bingo Players and The Chainsmokers, and how has it influenced your own style?
Having support from artists like Bingo Players and The Chainsmokers has been incredible and, honestly, a bit surreal. They’re legends in electronic music and have shaped so much of the sound and energy in the scene, so having their backing feels like validation that I’m on the right path.
It’s also motivating—knowing they see potential in what I’m doing pushes me to keep experimenting and evolving. Their support has definitely influenced my style. Seeing how they build energy, create memorable moments, and connect with crowds has inspired me to think more about the impact of each element in my own tracks.
I’m constantly working to create that same kind of excitement and connection, so their influence keeps me focused on crafting sounds that resonate deeply with listeners.
Your music blends bass house with electro and a lot of experimental energy—how do you keep pushing into fresh territory within those genres?
Blending bass house, electro, and experimental sounds is all about exploring the boundaries of each genre and finding ways to make them interact in unexpected ways. I like to start by playing with unconventional sounds, textures, and rhythms that can add a fresh edge.
Sometimes, it’s about taking a familiar bass line or synth and layering it with something unexpected, like an atmospheric element or a unique rhythm pattern that creates a new vibe.
I’m always listening to a wide range of music and paying attention to different genres for inspiration. It helps me identify what’s working and what could be reinvented. I think the key to keeping things fresh is staying open.
When you talk about expressing more of who you are in your music, what does that look like for you?
Expressing more of who I am in my music means really tapping into my personal experiences, memories, and emotions, and translating those into sound. I think a lot about what inspires me—from moments that feel nostalgic and joyful to those that are more introspective or intense. Bringing that into my tracks involves experimenting with melodies, textures, and rhythms that capture those feelings and create a vibe that feels honest and relatable.
For me, it’s also about letting my personality and creative quirks come through. That might mean trying unexpected sounds, building playful or energetic sections, or crafting drops that push boundaries.
I want listeners to feel like they’re getting a sense of who I am through the music, whether it’s through a high-energy moment or something that makes them feel reflective. Each track becomes a way for me to share a piece of my story in a way that words alone couldn’t express.
How has this past year shaped the way you’re approaching production and live shows?
This past year has been huge for shaping how I approach both production and live shows. In the studio, I’ve been diving deeper into creating music that’s not only unique but also resonates on a more emotional level.
I’ve been more intentional with my sound design, focusing on details that add depth and personality to each track. I want each song to feel like an experience—something that can connect with people both on headphones and in a live setting.
For live shows, I’m approaching them with the goal of creating a journey for the audience. I’ve been incorporating more experimental elements, mixing genres, and building moments that keep the energy unpredictable and exciting.
Seeing the reactions in real time has shown me the power of those moments, and it’s motivated me to craft sets that leave a lasting impression. This year has really been about refining my sound and performance style to bring something fresh and memorable to every show.
What can fans look forward to next—any projects or new directions you’re diving into soon?
Fans can definitely look forward to some exciting new projects! I’m working on pushing my sound even further into that playful, experimental territory. Expect more tracks that blend different genres and take you on a journey.
I’ve been exploring some new sonic landscapes, experimenting with new textures, and really playing with energy shifts that I think will surprise listeners.
