Elderbrook unveils his highly anticipated third album, the 12-track LP, ‘Another Touch’.
Featuring collaborations with the likes of Shimza, Carlita and George FitzGerald, the ‘Another Touch’ LP converges through emotive, delicate earworms like previous single ‘Shallow Water’ and ‘Ain’t Losin’ You’ to epic dancefloor weapons like the colossal Vintage Culture collab, ‘Run’.
Other highlights on ‘Another Touch’ include the uplifting ‘Sunshine’, featuring Snakehips, and the dramatic ‘Never Over’. Elderbrook dips into afro-tech territory at times too, on tracks like ‘How Long’, ‘Afters’ and the album’s finale, ‘Places’, an emotional collaboration with leading South African Afrotech star Shimza.
Speaking on the album, Elderbrook comments:
“Another Touch album is a journey of self-discovery. It begins with someone who has lost themselves so completely they barely recognize the person in the mirror. Everything is shallow and inconsistent in their life so as to protect them from anything which might hold some true meaning. As the album unfolds so too does the story of our ‘hero’ who finds new ways to think about, and reflect on their life, and the lessons learned along the way
Another Touch centres around the loves, losses and ups and downs of life and how we think about ourselves and our place within the world. Who are we when the night ends? When everything goes quiet and it is time for us to speak what do we have to say? It’s a beautiful and reflective story of tragedy, loss and of finding yourself despite the dark.”
Following a year of career-best live shows, Elderbrook will take the album on tour to arenas and massive venues across the UK and Europe in November – many of which are already sold out – before heading to Australia in the New Year. The Another Touch Tour which includes over +150K tickets, will culminate in a headline show at the iconic 5,000-capacity Brixton Academy on 29th November, which is set to be one of the biggest performances of his career.
Elderbrook—real name Alex Kotz—has quickly become a key name in dance pop with his genre-blending sound, which combines underground electronic dance music with pop, indie and house. Best known for his chart-topping smash-hit CamelPhat collab, ‘Cola’, which earned over 450 million streams and a Grammy nomination, Elderbrook has amassed over 2.3 billion global streams across platforms and performed on the world’s biggest stages, such as Coachella, Red Rocks and Glastonbury.
His debut album, ‘Why Do We Shake in the Cold?’, received critical acclaim, while his 2021 EP ‘Innerlight’ notably saw collaborations with artists like Bob Moses and Emmit Fenn, and was later remixed by the Mercury Prize-nominated Barry Can’t Swim and Model Man.
