Tell us the story behind “Dudadu.”
We created the song during the mountain session we organized specifically for the “Origini” project, Irina’s latest album.
When we returned home after 10 days of making music, I decided to create an Afro house remix, the one played by &Me. The story of how it happened is incredible. We were supposed to leave for France, but our flight was rescheduled. When we saw that &ME was coming to Romania, we decided to stay in Bucharest.
Two days before his show, Irina posted a story on Instagram tagging him and asking him to download the song and play it. He didn’t see Irina’s story; we think he noticed stories from Irina’s fans asking him the same thing. We went to the party without any expectations, even thinking that he wouldn’t play it since he hadn’t seen our message.
But he did play it, and he played it right after his first song, which was “MOVE.” He mentioned he downloaded it an hour before the show, at least that’s what we read under his Instagram post. People were surprised to hear a Romanian song; they began sharing the moment on social media, and it went viral.
The following week, Keinemusik played it at Sonar in Barcelona. We received a lot of videos from Romanian fans. That’s how the song caught the attention of many DJs. Weeks later, Steve Aoki wrote directly to Irina and released his remix of the original song.
Not long after, Tiësto started playing the song and subsequently created his remix. “Dudadu” was played twice on the main stage at Tomorrowland by Steve Aoki and Tiësto, and on another stage by Keinemusik.

What did you feel when &ME played it for the first time?
We felt like we received more than we had asked for. It was very unlikely that he would play the song; it felt like hitting the jackpot in a lottery.
He also supported the song afterward, including in Keinemusik shows. Did you discuss a potential collaboration?
Yes, Irina is keeping in touch with them, but we cannot say anything about a collaboration; it has to come naturally, and we need to have the perfect song for it to happen.
How did Steve Aoki hear the song and get to remix it?
He mentioned on the main stage at UNTOLD that he got into a taxi and asked the driver to play some Romanian music, and the driver played “Dudadu.” We were lucky; we owe everything to the driver.
What about Tiësto?
He liked my version, the “Dudadu” flip. He started posting it on his socials, then he followed me. After that, we began chatting.

Tell me more about yourself so that the audience can discover you.
I’m a French producer/DJ. I started my Afro House project in December 2023 and began posting my remixes on SoundCloud. One of them, “Time Impala – Borderline (Goldcher Remix),” made it into the charts. Then I discovered Romanian folklore through Irina and started creating songs using folkloric themes.
One of them is “Dudadu,” but I also have many more to release. You can find more on SoundCloud, buy my music on Beatport, and follow me on Instagram to stay connected with my project and to attend the parties where I mix my unreleased music. Just search for Goldcher on Instagram, and you will find me.
Tell us more about your plans? Upcoming music, shows?
I have many plans and several songs to release, which I’m looking forward to. The release I was most excited about was the one with Tiësto that happened this October. We’ve had a crazy year, but we’re just getting started.
