After an eight-year hiatus spent on groundbreaking projects with Swedish House Mafia—earning 2XGrammy Awards nominations—and collaborations with Steve Angello and Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso returns with his new solo single, ‘Flood’.
Released via imprint Superhuman, this anthemic dance track marks a significant return for Ingrosso and sets the stage for more exciting releases to come.
Merging future garage and bass house, ‘Flood’ is tight and skippy, but is epic in its proportions beneath the surface. It breaks apart into an expansive, emotionally charged cinematic moment, where floating ethereal vocals meet arpeggiating angelic, harp-like strings, accelerating towards a huge drop.
This is just the second release on Superhuman, following February’s much-anticipated Groove Armada-sampling single, ‘Skip’. The label is a platform for the SHM-affiliated producer to showcase a deeper side to his sonic repertoire, delivering more club-focused leftfield sounds away from the bright lights of Swedish House Mafia.
This is Ingrosso’s first solo release in eight years. In that time, he’s been busy dominating dance music, working alongside exciting new producers like Salvatore Ganacci, Buy Now and YARO.
He released the bouncing bass house hit ‘U Ok?’ (5M+ streams) in 2023 with PARISI and Steve Angello. His earlier hits, including the 2012 collaboration with Tommy Trash, ‘Reload,’ and the smash single ‘Calling (Lose My Mind)’ with Alesso, have also amassed hundreds of millions of streams.
Beyond his group efforts, it’s thrilling to see Sebastian Ingrosso back behind the wheel on ‘Flood’. This single and the Superhuman label mark a new chapter in the solo career of this unequivocal dance icon.
