WIRE Festival announces its fourth edition, May 16-17-18 2025. Since its inception in 2022, WIRE has championed the most vital underground dance music, highlighting some of the genre’s most esteemed landmark artists, freshest voices and essential collectives who are defining the cutting edge.
Previous highlights have included Jeff Mills, Surgeon (live), DJ Stingray 313 and showcases from Mala Junta, Bassiani, Herrensauna and more. WIRE’s ethos goes beyond curating a lineup of headliners, however. The festival is unfailing in its support for the NY scene. WIRE highlights some of the city’s most adventurous artists, elevating local talent and creating opportunities for artistic cross pollination.
In addition to its core programming, WIRE connects the dots of community with a series of Talks programmed in partnership with RA. These lead into an Industry Meet-up in the hours before the first DJ set, allowing artists, organizers, bookings agents and label owners to connect with each other.
Finally, the festival transforms the already-iconic venue with stunning, specially-commissioned light installations. 2024’s collaboration with France’s Collectif Scale was the most ambitious work yet featured, bolstered by additional installations from NY’s Inner Light and Studio Gum Gum.
2023 saw the introduction of the Ambient Stage where artists are encouraged to stretch into the unfamiliar. This year, WIRE expanded from its initial two night template to include a euphoric Sunday program, leading straight out of the Saturday night rave and running all the way from early morning through the evening. These will, of course, be a part of 2025’s edition, once again adding layers of artistic diversity and dimension to the weekend.
Each year, WIRE re-commits to its ethos of community, connection and uncompromising music vision. 2025 will be no exception. The festival has grown steadily and organically, moving from strength to strength, creating a space for world class techno and more amidst a thriving NY ecosystem.
