TATE SEDAR Drops a Powerful Remix of Kx5’s ‘Eat Sleep’

Tate Sedar

Deadmau5 and Kaskade’s renowned duo project, Kx5, featuring Richard Walters, is getting a fresh remix. The new take blends tech house and techno, amplifying the original track’s underground and club vibes.

Emerging from a remix competition hosted by Kx5 earlier this year, TATE revisits these sounds with a fresh interpretation that links two often-overlooked genres—tech house and its energetic precursor, complextro.

TATE‘s love for electronic music began in the early 2000s. Raised on the vibes of eurodance, trance, and techno, his playlist were dominated by iconic names like Tiësto and BT, along with tracks from the Dance Dance Revolution arcade games.

These influences led him down a path of creative exploration that saw him evolve from electro and bass house into more experimental territory. Recent tracks like his edit of “Cutting Loose” and his 2021 rework of “Heaven” reflect his growing comfort in marrying both analog and digital elements to forge new sounds.

Even though TATE didn’t claim the top spot in Kx5‘s competition, his remix glows. It showcases his ability to thread together tech house’s rhythmic flow with the punchy, fragmented drops that complextro is known for—artists like Zedd and Skrillex paved the way for this approach.

The remix begins with a teasing buildup before plunging into a bass-heavy drop that cleverly shifts between genres, keeping the listener engaged. By the time the second drop lands, the track takes a more euphoric turn, featuring rich techno leads and a melodic chord progression that nods to Deadmau5‘s progressive house roots.
