Mayan Warrior has announced Mayan Warrior Los Angeles Halloween, in partnership with Los Angeles-based event collective Stranger Than. Held on October 28th, the Halloween event will serve as the last official Mayan Warrior fundraising event ever after their art car was tragically destroyed in a fire earlier this year. Coming full circle, Mayan Warrior will return to Grand Park, the location they debuted their first West Coast event in 2017.
Hailing from Mexico City, Mayan Warrior grew from a renegade Burning Man Art Car and Soundcamp to one of electronic music’s most successful touring brands, all with unannounced lineups showcasing a mix of native Mexican and global underground talent.
Fusing ancient culture and cutting edge technology, the Mayan Warrior team built a custom art car resemblant of a supernatural Mayan being complete with a DJ booth, lasers, and a cutting edge soundsystem.
In celebration of ten years since its inception, Mayan Warrior embarked on an anniversary tour, bringing its beloved art car to Austin, NYC, Miami, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Mayan Warrior originally teamed up with Stranger Than; five years ago to produce a series of fundraising events for their return to Burning Man and their first shows off the Playa.
Gathering tens of thousands across the country, Mayan Warrior transformed urban venues into immersive oases of radical self-expression and collaboration.
After the art car was tragically destroyed earlier this year, the strength of Mayan Warrior‘s impact and vibrant community was exemplified, demonstrating the resilience and unity that defines this extraordinary project. Through the ashes, the Mayan Warrior’s legacy lives on, a testament to its timeless spirit and the power of human connection. The Los Angeles event will pay tribute to Mayan Warrior’s legacy and serve as the last chance to experience the Mayan Warrior ever.
