The duo, hailing from Donegal in Ireland, the home of another former Truesoul-alumni Rebūke, have been whiling their analogue-heavy craft for over a decade.
Traversing sound experiments that take in the full spectrum of house, techno and acid, their label credits speak for themselves, dropping heat on A-List labels including Kneaded Pains, Diynamic and Trick.
The four-tracker ‘909303‘ delivers everything it promises on the tin and more. The title track is a pumping intergalactic acid jam, led by a vocal that pays dues to the iconic drum machine and synthesizer that gave the cut its name.
‘Batida‘ is a piercing slice of techno fun set to do the damage during festival season. ‘Amento‘ is a pearl, holding space for both emotion and expectation, as tight drum programming, a racey synth line and fruity keys build curiosity over the course of the six-minute composition.
The EP is concluded masterfully, as ‘Deep Dive‘ snorkels in subterranean waters, with bass-face inducing drums and a tripped out vocal guiding the track home. A proper bad boy tune, reinforcing Disfreq‘s impressive sonic range.
