Following the announcement of Justin Bieber as Sziget 2022 headliner, as well as other artists including Anne-Marie, Calvin Harris, Tame Impala, Sam Fender, Tourist and many more, Sziget Festival is happy to announce a new round of artists for their infamous Colosseum – the boldest open-air electronic music arena with capacity for 2,500 people.
Exclusively designed for Sziget, the 360-degree electronic music venue will host some of the most renowned electronic music artists to date and will feature a totally refurbished layout supported by world-class sound and lighting technology, allowing Szitizens to party all day and night.
Coming to the huge Sziget Colosseum stage, especially designed for the best electronic music quality sound, the new round of announcements include none other than Seth Troxler, who will be bringing his infamous house and techno sound to the Colosseum masses. Also, travelling to Sziget from Barcelona, DJ, producer and NTS Radio host Oriol Riverola aka. John Talabot will be taking the Colosseum stage with his famous mix of obscure electronic sounds.
Bringing Berlin Techno to Sziget 2022, Ben Klock has been a resident for the world-class Berlin club Berghain since 2005. Szitizens can expect some of Klock’s most iconic tracks including “Subzero” from his Before One EP as well as “Dawning“, one of his collaborations with Marcel Dettmann – a set not to be missed.
Having worked with artists like Coldplay, Imogen Heap or London Grammar in the past, Kölsch, will also be joining the bill with his globally recognised house including famous 2003 track “Calabria“, an instrumental house track for which he won the Danish Music Awards in 2004.
Furthermore, based between New York City and Berlin, Honey Dijon has been described to have popularised “a rambunctious DJ style” by Resident Advisor in 2018. Having collaborated with the likes of Louis Vuitton and Dior in the past to provide the soundtracks for their runway presentations, Dijon will be spinning swingy Chicago, classic house and disco but also rhythmic techno.
Other exciting new acts include Chile born but UK based DJ and NTS Radio host Shanti Celeste who has toured the world’s most renowned clubs and festivals, including Berlin’s Berghain, London’s Corsica Studio and many more. Also, early sound of The Haçienda adopter and Grammy nominated Sasha will be bringing Wales to Budapest with his mix of house, trance and breaks.
Besides the mentioned new artists, Sziget has already announced some of the world’s biggest names for their 2022 comeback. Starting with Arctic Monkeys, Lewis Capaldi, Dua Lipa, Sam Fender, RÜFÜS DU SOL to Bastille, Slowthai, Sigrid, Kings of Leon to huge headliner Justin Bieber. In the past, Sziget has hosted some of music’s biggest names, including artists such as David Bowie, Oasis, Florence + the Machine, Radiohead, Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran, Twenty One Pilots or Kendrick Lamar.
Located in the heart of Budapest on Óbuda Island, Sziget festival aka. Island of Freedom is known for celebrating diversity and community, bringing together people from all over the world and providing a safe space for freedom of expression.
Outside their music line-up, Sziget also offers a programme of cabaret, comedy, screenings, workshops, wellness activities, installations, performances and art, as well as boat parties and more. Festival goers, aka. Szitizens travel from all over the world, from more than 100 countries each year to attend and embrace diversity as part of the festival ‘Love Revolution’, using the power of community to celebrate and bring love, acceptance and freedom to the heart of Budapest and beyond.
After a two year break due to the pandemic, Sziget 2022 is set to be their biggest and best event to date.
