After a number of months filled with uncertainty, SAGA Festival was officially given the green light by the Romanian Government to go ahead as planned with its inaugural edition taking place between 10 and 12 September 2021.
Giving SAGA festivalgoers and organizers the news it needed to hear, it is now officially set to go ahead following the news that some current restrictions in Romania will be lifted on the 1st of August. The number of people allowed at events has increased to 75.000, coming at the perfect time for SAGA Festival to go ahead in September at its full capacity, bestowing a blessing upon not just the Romanian visitors but visitors from all over the world.
The festival, hosted by events titans ALDA and Insomniac, will welcome partygoers from over 40 countries and 6 continents. In order to bring this number of fans together as one, getting the green light to go ahead as normal proves to be a crucial turning point for what the future holds for the 2021 edition, which looks bright.
Visitors looking to enjoy SAGA will be required to either be between the period of the 15th and 180th day after having the virus, show proof of vaccination with a certificate, provide a negative result of an antigen rapid certificate or provide a negative PCR test result no older than 72 hours to gain entry into the festival site to ensure that everyone enjoys a safe experience. The Romanian Prime Minister Florin Cîțu stated in a press conference that they have approved the relaxation of some restrictions, not all.
“We have approved the relaxation measures of the restrictions from August 1. Relaxation is a strong word today, because these measures are not relaxed much, many of them are maintained. I would mention the cultural-artistic and entertainment activities organized in open spaces with participation of at most 75.000 people in localities with an incidence less than or equal to 2 per thousand inhabitants. Very important condition – participants must be vaccinated or tested.”
SAGA Festival is also looking forward to welcoming artists from all over the world as part of a jam-packed line-up consisting of some of the biggest stars in mainstage and underground entertainment.
Performing on breathtaking stages, championing incredible visuals, the likes of Tiësto, Carl Cox, Timmy Trumpet, Adam Beyer and Alan Walker are all still set to arrive in Romania between 10-12 September 2021. Recently announced artist Masked Wolf also joins the bill, with viral sensation Sickick being the most recent announcement among countless other superstar DJs. SAGA has invited the most eclectic line-up to the striking location of Izvor Park in Bucharest.
