Junction 2 has today announced its lineup for 2021, the fifth edition of the festival to date. As well as the entirety of 2020’s lineup being replicated for 2021, a number of high profile additions have been made. Bambounou, Esa and Jossy Mitsu join Friday’s bill, while Deena Abdelwahed, Sam Bangura and Samuel Deep are added to the lineup for Saturday.
Friday’s lineup highlights include electronic star Jon Hopkins‘ dazzling live show, as well as sets from UK icon Four Tet, and Russian rave star Nina Kraviz. Elsewhere, Octo Octa and Eris Drew play back to back sets, while crowd favourite DJ Koze, the Hessel Audio trifecta and the inimitable Honey Dijon all play across the day.
Saturday sees standout sets from Ben Klock & Marcel Dettmann, both staples of the Berlin scene, as well as Detroit’s Robert Hood and Seth Troxler, Belgian selector Amelie Lens, Ellum label chief Maceo Plex and Drumcode talisman Adam Beyer. Saturday will also see live sets from experimental artist Deena Abdelwahed, Half Baked Records star Sam Bangura and SlapFunk‘s Samuel Deep. Weekend resident Avalon Emerson will appear twice across the festival, playing solo on Friday and two back to back slots with Roi Perez and Dr. Rubinstein on the Saturday.
Following the success of the virtual edition of Speaker’s Corner, presented as a second day of programming for Junction 2′s debut digital festival, J2v, a real life Speaker’s Corner will be brought to Junction 2 for 2021. This will be a space dedicated to the exploration of the culture of electronic music, past, present and future, via in-depth discussions with the scene’s major players and the artists appearing at the festival. Speaker’s Corner will also provide a place to introduce grassroots talent and forge links with local arts and music collectives.
Tickets for Junction 2 2021 are on sale Friday 11th September at midday here.
