In the aftermath of Inferno by Carl Cox, Reinier Zonneveld and Christopher Coe, the trio returned to El Rancho – the cradle of Carl’s productions and home of the Awesome Sound Wave label – to put their creative minds together for a filthy but awesome studio session.
Techno tastemakers Filth on Acid hit release number 55 with a huge EP that is a co-release with Carl Cox and Christopher Coe‘s Awesome Soundwave label.
Nothing needs to be said of Carl Cox, who has been at the forefront of the game for decades and still commands huge audiences all over the world, not least in Ibiza where he is unofficial king.
Reinier Zonneveld, of course, has steered this label and himself to the top of the techno tree with his A&R, own slick releases and powerful live sets, while Irish producer Christopher Coe continues to make moves of his own.
Up first is This Is Our Time (The Filth Mix) which is stripped back and has string stabs that echo classic Detroit techno while the drums hit hard. Then comes the Pure Mix, which is more soulful, with broken drum loops and emotional melodies drifting up top.
Last of all, This Is Our Time (Awesome Mix), a techno track that drives on rubbery drums and bass that rattles the ribs. Subtle chord stabs get you in the zone and will get hands in the air while sci-fi pads add to the cosmic adventure.
This is another landmark package from this essential techno label
