This years ‘Spring Awakening Music Festival‘ has come and gone, but the memories and experiences will never be forgotten.
The festival took place from June 9-11 and was located at Chicago’s Addams Park in Little Italy. This year, ‘React Presents‘ wanted to expand the festival grounds and give festival goers an unforgettable experience. With the downtown skyscrapers in the background and beautiful tree’s surrounding the park, they couldn’t of picked a better spot.
The massive party was spread out over 5 different stages with a nice variety of music pumping out each night. The setup gave off a Coachella vibe with two giant main stages, two perfectly placed tents and the best of all, the Corona Beach Oasis stage. This stage was literally in a giant see through igloo with sand beneath your feet, a full bar and much needed fans to keep the party going. This igloo was poppin all weekend to say the least.
This years lineup was absolutely stacked. Like I mentioned earlier, the event was spread out over 5 different stages so the party planners really had some time slots to fill. Some of the bigger names that were present over the weekend were Trance Legend Armin Van Burren, Marshmello, Alesso, Martin Garrix and Excision. The list goes on and on so I’ve listed the lineup below.
Festival food is something that can make or break your experience, and being in chi-town, the food definitely did not disappoint. Some of Chicago’s very own like Quang Noodle and Cheesie’s Pub Grub were present to feed all the crazy party goers. The festival also provided some insane rides for those who really wanted to push the boundaries. To top it all off they even had a Chicago city bus right smack in the middle of the rave that was fully air conditioned for those who needed a quick cool down.
Overall the event was a huge success. It left us wishing there was a second weekend, this is one of the better summer festivals and if you haven’t been before it’s a must hit!
