On July 8th, Sensation transforms the Amsterdam ArenA into the biggest nightclub on earth for one last time.
After 18 years of great memories, exciting performances, incredible light shows, and many thousands of all-white outfits, ID&T‘s Sensation Amsterdam comes to an end.
It all started back in 2000, it was made up of one edition, just called Sensation, but soon the event was divided into two editions: Sensation Black and Sensation White. This was done to differentiate the music and feeling more than would have been possible if it were one event. Sensation Black focused more on ‘darker’ music, like Hardstyle and Hardcore, whereas Sensation White focused more on Trance music.
All the attendees were required to wear white at the White edition, and black at Sensation’s “dark” edition. And it was a very extravagant affair, and a very successful one as well, but after July 8, 2017, it will be time to move on.
“Since 2000, Sensation has been one of the pillars of ID&T. We had the idea to transform the ArenA into the biggest club in the world,” ID&T Founder Duncan Stutterheim is quoted in a press release.
“That was a success. With the theme White we have also always celebrated life, not only in our own country but globally. Our dream to have everyone dance in white has come true. I do understand, however, that present-day ID&T has to take a new step. And that begins with saying goodbye to Sensation in our own country. On July 8 I will take leave of Sensation with an enormously good feeling, but at the same time I’m also curious about what will be next.”
The last Sensation comes to Amsterdam Arena and will adhere to “The Final” theme. Mr. White, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Fedde Le Grand, Hardwell, Special Guest, Axwell Λ Ingrosso, and MC GEE will headline the event.
The general ticket sale for Sensation ‘The Final’ starts on Monday, February 27th at 16:00 (CET) at sensation.com
