The New York native duo of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall exploded onto the music scene in 2016 and is on the verge of hitting their third double-platinum album this year, so it’s clear that they’ve become superstars everyone wants to interview.
Now, The Chainsmokers have done interview with Rolling Stone in which they speak about their musical influences and who they’re digging right now, like Stromae, Twenty one pilots and Die Antwoord. But it seems like they’re not fans of Deadmau5 anymore.
Taggart, who says Deadmau5 was one of his heroes, was hurt because Joel previously tweeted about them saying, “The only thing The Chainsmokers and pop EDM have in common is probably cancer.”

“It was the first time anyone cared enough to shit on us,” Taggart says.
“At that point, I fell out of love with his music. Now his brand is less about his music and more about his personality, which is being a dick” he added.
